Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.

And never be afraid to try new things...

... So this is exactly what I'm doing! I'm starting a blog about one of my favourite hobbies (and possibly my missed calling in life)... FOOD.

Eating and cooking, I just love food - who doesn't?! I probably should be a lot bigger than I am, my eyes certainly are!

Room for two more?

If you have ever been to Wagamama during peak times you would have experienced that uncomfortable feeling when the waitress leads new customers towards the place settings next to you on an already crowded table... the Afghan Kitchen on Upper Street Islington however was something else... Despite Wagamama's communal tables and the inability to have any sort of private conversation during the peak times, I still bloody love it (especially the Yaki Udon)! However the Afghan Kitchen was just a bit too much. We booked the table for 7.30 on a Saturday evening, which by London's standards is still pretty early. The other Tooting Chicken Shop

Anyone who has recently moved outside of Zone 2 will know that there are certain areas estate agents push (and push) and whether you choose to believe their spiel about it being "an up and coming area" or "the next Shoreditch" is up to you. My past experience with a certain group of Coca-Cola supplying rahs, is that most of the time they are telling a load of rubbish and will almost certainl y drive you to an area you didn't ask for, for a price you didn't agree.     So it took me by surprise to find that actually, Tooting is pretty up and coming. I'd been to the Tram and Social before, but anyone who's walked the short walk between there and the station, knows that the choice of shops are really limited to Wilkos and a take-away chicken shop. But dig a little deeper and just around the corner you will find several trendy bars and a chicken shop of a different kind.  With a continuous stream of hungry customers forming an orderly queue ...

Bibimbap Soho - my first taste of Korean food.

This tasty little restaurant is located down Greek Street in Soho. A fantastic central location perfect for a quick bite before going out or for a break from shopping. And that's just its convenience. Experiencing my first meal at Bibimbap Soho wouldn't have been right without trying the signature Korean dish: Bibimbap. My chosen dish to devour was chilli chicken complete with a fried egg on top. Served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, as soon as the dish hits your table you are presented with  delicious fragrances of garlic and chilli combined with the chicken, rice and vegetables. I wasn't sure of the best way to tackle this dish or that I'd even manage to finish it (but of course I did), but quickly learnt that mixing the ingredients with  your chopsticks is vital to avoid the rice sticking to the hot bowl and that the crispy rice even adds to the flavour and textures.
